My Brown ghosts (2018)
A tracing of an enlarged 4x5 negative is the basis for a project regarding Dallas equity, cultural space, and misremembered/remembered sites.
The murder of a 12-year old Mexican boy by a white Dallas police officer in 1973 is presented in the graphite drawing as a historical absence (revised in my drawing so as to rename the gates in a rapidly gentrifying Dallas community).
In the color negative, the same memory is a museological display, rendered with less forensics by my marks.
